Common angle conversion mistakes
-
The calculator is in the wrong mode. SIN() in a spreadsheet, Math.sin in code and a calculator in radian mode all read 90 as radians, so sin(90) gives about 0.894, not 1. Convert degrees to radians first, or switch the calculator to degree mode.

A mil is not the same everywhere. The NATO mil is 1/6,400 of a turn, the old Swedish streck 1/6,300, and some armies use 1/6,000. Check which scale the sight or map uses, or the target lands off at long range.

Gradians and degrees are easy to mix up, since both show as plain numbers on the instrument. A right angle is 90° but 100 gon, and 1 gon is smaller than 1°. Check the unit setting on the instrument.
